Danny Castillo
Danny Castillo was born and raised in Chicago, IL, from immigrant parents with English as a second language he always felt different. He was involved in criminal activity and drug usage since the age of 7.Shame and guilt made him feel disconnected from anything good in his life including God.
In 2001, after 25 years in active addiction, he started to clean up his life by attending 12 Step recovery meetings. In the process of working a 12 Step program, he uncovered who he was and discovered who he was created to be. The 12 Steps lead him back to establishing a relationship with God and in doing so, found his purpose in sharing his struggles and his victories with those with similar stories.
Danny started volunteering at the Maury County Jail in 2018 as a 12 Step member, carrying the message of hope to those who suffer from addiction. In October of 2022, he joined Restoration Jail Ministry as Assistant Chaplain where he continues to share his testimony of how God can take a nobody, turn him into somebody, without asking anybody in front of everybody and how his experiences useful to give other hope.
Today with 21 years clean, God has turned Danny’s mess into His message. All Glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
